Nator Constructions Pty Ltd (Nator, we, us, our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information, and how you can contact us about it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy applies to our website at natorconstructions.com.au (the Site) and to personal information we collect in the course of running our business.
1. What we collect
We only collect the personal information we need to respond to you and to run our business. Depending on how you deal with us, this can include:
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and, where relevant, your postal or site address.
- Enquiry details: the type of enquiry you select, the message you send us, and any information about your project that you choose to share.
- Career enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the area of work you are interested in, and any information you include about your experience. If you later provide a resume or references, we collect what is in them.
- Business dealings: information needed to quote, contract, invoice and deliver a project, including details of the property, consultants, and payment records.
- Site usage: technical information collected automatically when you visit the Site, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. See section 5, Cookies and analytics.
We do not ask for sensitive information (such as health, racial or ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, or criminal record) through the Site. If you give it to us, we will only handle it for the purpose you gave it to us, or as the law allows.
2. How we collect it
- Directly from you, when you complete a form on the Site, email us, call us, meet with us, or engage us for a project.
- From people acting for you, such as an architect, designer, consultant, agent or referrer, where they are authorised to share your details.
- Automatically, through the Site and the services that host and run it (section 5).
- From publicly available sources where relevant to a project, such as property and planning records.
Where it is lawful and practical, you can deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. For most building work we need to know who you are.
3. Why we collect and use it
We collect, hold and use personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the information you asked for;
- quote for, contract, plan, deliver and warrant construction work;
- manage our relationship with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers;
- consider you for employment or subcontracting opportunities you have expressed interest in;
- send you information about Nator and our projects where you have asked for it, or would reasonably expect it. You can opt out at any time;
- run, secure and improve the Site;
- meet our legal obligations, including under building, licensing, workplace health and safety, and taxation law.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal information. We share it only where needed for the purposes above, or where the law requires it, with:
- consultants, subcontractors and suppliers working on your project;
- certifiers, councils, insurers, financiers and regulators, including the Queensland Building and Construction Commission, where a project requires it;
- our professional advisers, such as accountants, lawyers and insurers;
- service providers who host the Site, handle form submissions, provide email, document storage, video hosting, analytics and spam protection on our behalf.
Overseas disclosure. Some of the service providers we use store or process information outside Australia, mainly in the United States. This includes our website hosting and form platform (Webflow), spam protection (Cloudflare), video hosting (Vimeo), and email and file storage (Google). We take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information with appropriate protection. By submitting information through the Site, you consent to it being stored and processed by these providers in the countries where they operate.
5. Cookies and analytics
The Site uses cookies and similar technologies. A cookie is a small file placed on your device by your browser.
- Necessary cookies set by our hosting platform and by Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from automated spam. The Site does not work properly without these.
- Embedded video. Project videos on the Site are hosted by Vimeo. When you play a video, Vimeo may set cookies and collect usage information under Vimeo's own privacy policy.
- Analytics. We may use Google Analytics or a similar service to understand how the Site is used, in aggregate. This information does not identify you to us. You can opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on Google provides.
- Links to other sites, such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google Maps, take you to platforms run by others. Their privacy policies apply once you leave the Site.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the Site may not work if you do.
6. How we hold and protect it
We hold personal information in secure cloud systems and in our business records. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, including access controls, passwords and limiting access to people who need it for their work. No internet transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send to us online.
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as the law requires. Project records are kept for the periods required under building and taxation law. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
7. Access and correction
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete or misleading. Contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing and how you can complain.
8. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, contact us first using the details below. We take complaints seriously and will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on the Site with the date it was last updated.
